Been a while since we posted a travel update. We’re currently in Salta Province, actually in the city of Salta, having traveled here via Colonia Uruguay/Buenos Aires.

We’ve spent 5 days in the city and are now ready to hit the road in a rental car and explore the surrounding area. We plan to head north today to see the brilliantly colored mountains and possibly visit the salt flats if there’s time. Then we’ll head south to spend a couple of days in Cafayate, which is Salta’s wine country. Yes, there’s more to wine than Mendoza!
After our visit to Cafayate, we return to Salta to catch a plane to Iguazu. The Iguazu Falls are a world treasure not to be missed while we’re this far north in Argentina. Just have to go. We’ll spend a couple days visiting from the Argentine side and then visit from Brazil, where the views are apparently spectacular. Apparently Niagara has nothing on this spectacle.
Then, the plans ran out and we were faced with the question of what to book next. While in Salta, we learned that Chile is open without COVID tests!!! So, Santiago here we come. We’ll spend a week exploring the Chilean capital and surrounding areas. Depending on how Chile is from a COVID standpoint, we may spend more time there. That will actually get us up through the middle of May, which would also mark 3 months in South America by that time. Wow!
We’ll keep you updated on our travels and continue to post pictures of our adventures. Thanks for traveling along with us. We hope everyone reading is well and enjoying spring in the upper half of the planet while we enjoy our second Fall of the year. Best wishes, Ande and Jake.
You can fly to CO and make it in time for Riley’s graduation on May 18, or come for the party on the 20th… just a suggestion 😉
Chris beat me to my suggestion, maybe you’re getting a little homesick ? Anyway, sure enjoying your travels and looks like you are having a great time. Glad Chile is open for you. Thanks for the update..luv..Mom C.
