Hello, we’ve been unable to post for a few days for all our moving around and spotty internet access in some locations. We just finished up a post for the Animals of Patagonia to share some of the photos we’ve taken of the wildlife. After our stays in Puerto Madryn and Gaiman in Northern Patagonia, we flew south to El Calafate. We arrived on Tuesday, 8-March and spent 5 days filled with visiting the many, many glaciers of Los Glaciares National Park. Two days in the park were spent hiking catwalks in front of huge glaciers and also taking a couple of boat tours to see icebergs and glaciers up close. Here’s a preview:

From El Calafate, we traveled to the stupid cute little town of El Chalten. It is basically one long street of hotels, hostels, and restaurants serving as the gateway to the many day hikes and multi-day treks the National Park has to offer. Here’s a shot taken from above town on our way to the trailhead.

We’re here through Thursday, and then, well, there’s a bit of an issue. We were hoping to go further south to Ushuaia, but flights are long and expensive and every hotel we tried is booked. Challenges of traveling on the fly. This little town barely has an internet connection, which is also another challenge. We will likely not be able to post for several days but will update all of you on our next destination when we figure it out.
Best,
Jake & Ande
